Gold Medal Award Presentation (1999 - 2003)
 
August 19, 2003 MSD Singapore presented its Gold Metal Award to four NUS and NTU undergraduates. Each recipient received a gold medal and S$3,000 cash award. The MSD Gold Medal award, administered through endowment funds of NUS and NTU, is aimed at supporting Singapore's and the universities' efforts in moving into the next phase of economic development and in creating a knowledge-based economy. It is awarded to recognise students' academic excellence. The award also signifies MSD's ongoing commitment to Singapore's efforts in building a dynamic work force.
 
 
Exploratory Lab in Raffles Institution (RI)
 
April 22, 2000 MSD Singapore celebrated the official opening of Raffles Institution/ Merck Sharp & Dohme Exploratory Laboratories in Raffles Institution. This is a private sector sponsored to provide an opportunity for students to acquire basic knowledge as well as undertake research programmes to develop and improve their basic skills related to research. MSD has donated S$100,000 for setting up the laboratory at Raffles Institution.
 
 
Life Sciences Centre in Raffles Girls' School (RGS)
 
December 6, 2000 MSD Singapore celebrated the official opening of Raffles Girls' School/ Merck Sharp & Dohme Life Sciences Centre in Raffles Girls' School (Secondary). MSD had donated S$100,000 to establish the RGS/MSD Life Sciences Centre. The Centre is to provide new opportunities for students in Singapore to acquire basic knowledge and skills through hands-on research programme. The RGS/MSD Life Sciences Centre will be a school-based laboratory to facilitate the teaching of life sciences in the school.
 
 
Eco pond at the Anglo Chinese School (ACS)
 
As part of our responsible care initiative, MSD Singapore has sponsored an eco pond at the Anglo Chinese School (ACS).
